Information and Technology Services Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, performs work within a team environment for a growth-oriented software company. Responsibilities include but are not limited to installation, data conversion, and customer contact for the products and services of Fidlar Technologies by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possesses technical understanding of company products and services.
  • Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation.
  • Completes database conversions, application installations, and product testing.
  • Assists computer developer in resolution of problems related to programming.
  • Prepares charts and diagrams to detail client set-up.
  • Directs and coordinates work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyses information skilfully and develops alternative solutions.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to client needs; responds to requests for services or assistance and meets commitments.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
  • Completes Labor Reporting in an accurate, timely fashion.

COMPETENCIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess many of the following competencies.

  • Possesses medium to high understanding of computer operating systems, hardware, networks and Internet.
  • Has medium to high understanding of SQL and/or programming languages.
  • Possesses the ability to see specific projects through to completion.
  • Has good phone and customer communication skills.
  • Has the ability to manage 2 – 4 specific projects at a time.
  • Possesses the ability to accept and adjust to emergency projects.
  • Possesses excellent technical communication skills.
  • Has an understanding of the principles of data conversion.
  • Demonstrates flexibility due to work schedule demands.
  • Is available for moderate travel to customer locations.
  • Displays ability to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Possesses commitment to do whatever is necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Has good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, and Power Point.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college; or three to five years related experience and/or training in a technical environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
